McLaren GTS is equipped with a variety of weight reduction measures that works in favour of the supercar’s overall enhanced performance.

Have you ever heard about something like a practical supercar? If not, then you’re in for a treat. McLaren has taken off the veil from its brand-new GTS supercar, which is none other than the superior version of the McLaren GT and it claims to be the most virtuous supercar all across the world. The overhauled version of the grand tourer is equipped with a boat load of savvy updates and revamps.

The British supercar marquee claims that the brand-new McLaren GTS is the most realistic supercar money can buy. Furthermore, the practicality of the model doesn’t hurt the supercar nature. As a matter of fact, the company claims that this variant is even more powerful than the GT. This supercar is all powered up by a 4L twin-turbocharged V8 engine taken from the McLaren GT. Additionally, the carmaker has designed it to churn out 14 bhp of extra power for a total peak output of 617 bhp and a maximum torque output of 630 Nm. The supercar also equips a 7-speed sequential shift gearbox for its transmission duty.

And to even enhance the variant, the automaker has reduced 10 kg weight of the car, which suggests the curb weight now stands at 1,520 kg. The all-new McLaren GTS equips a brand-new roof panel that is developed from recycled carbon fibre alongside a rear upper structure, which is also developed from carbon fibre as well. Titanium lug nuts which claim to be around 35% lighter than the standard wheel bolts are the specific reason for ultimate weight reductions.

As now the weight is quite reduced, the supercar is twice as fast as before. McLaren claims that the all-new GTS is proficient at attaining 0 to 96 kmph in merely 3.1 seconds, while it can achieve the highest 200 kmph mark from 0 mark in only 8.9 seconds and tops out at 326 kmph.

The electronically operated glass tailgate with a soft-close feature can be opened to reveal a 419 L cargo area. The front trunk has an additional 150 liters of storage, bringing the total capacity to 570 liters.

Mechanically, the McLaren GTS equips carbon ceramic brakes and adaptive dampers as the conventional equipment. However, the ground clearance of the supercar differs from 4.3 to 5.1 inches depending on whether the board lift system is active or not. The supercar runs on 10 twin-spoke forged alloy wheels, while there are 10 spoke turbine lightweight wheels on offer as well. The wheels of the car are wrapped within Pirelli P Zero tyres.

And to decode the exterior colours, the McLaren GTS is painted in a Lava Grey colour which also was unveiled with this supercar only. About the interior, there is Softgrain Aniline leather seat cushioning with stitching in a contrasting colour and a double-piping pattern.
