Mercedes Benz India Debuts E-Class All-Terrain

Comes with four-wheel-drive and a revised suspension; Scheduled for launch later this year.

Along with Maybach S 650, EQ concept, and the S 560, Mercedes also showcased - the E-class, All-Terrain. Basically, it is a higher-riding iteration of the E-Class Estate variant. The car is expected to go on sale in India later this year and will square up against the Volvo V90 Cross-Country estate.

Besides the estate body style, the E-class All-Terrain gets some other notable styling tweaks over the standard car such as two-tone front bumper with skid plates, a prominent twin-blade grille, black wheel arch cladding, roof rails, faux skid plates underneath the doors, and two-tone rear bumper with integrated trapezoidal-shaped exhaust tails.

Interiors remain largely the same, however, there are slight variations made including an exclusive aluminium carbon-fibre trim, stainless steel pedals and ‘All-Terrain’ branded floor mats.

The E-class All-Terrain is equipped with the 4matic four-wheel-drive system and rides on 19-inch wheels that accentuate its off-road capabilities. Mercedes ‘Dynamic Select’ comes as standard and offers five different drive modes, including an ‘All-Terrain’ mode. Additionally, the E-class All-Terrain’s infotainment monitor will also show the steering angle, suspension level, angle of slope and angle of inclination of the vehicle, along with accelerator and brake positioning.

Mercedes Benz India will launch E-Class All-Terrain with a single engine option a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel – churning out 194hp and a torque rating of 400Nm – mated to a nine-speed G Tronic torque converter gearbox. Mercedes claims a top-speed of 232kph for the rugged model.
