Mercedes-Benz India has announced that the GLA and AMG GLE 53 Coupe facelifts will be launched in the Indian market on January 31, 2024. The auto giant will disclose the costs of these models on the same day. Both of these cars will receive an upgraded interface for the infotainment system and subtle styling tweaks.

Mercedes-Benz unveiled the updated AMG GLE 53 Coupe a few months ago. The new sports coupe-SUV will retain its near-identical front and rear ends, newly designed alloy wheels, and distinctive sloping roofline. It is likely to get a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol unit that is mated to a 48V mild-hybrid system. The engine can churn out 429 bhp and 520 Nm of peak torque. The motor is coupled with a 9-speed AT gearbox, sending power to the four alloy wheels through Mercedes’ 4Matic system.

The Mercedes-Benz GLA was updated last year, and this model will now come with new LED elements for the sportier bumpers, headlamps, and newly designed alloy wheels. The GLA facelift comes with a redesigned front grille and updated front and back bumpers. Inside the cabin, the facelift features a reversing camera and high beam assist as standard. It comes equipped with an updated MBUX interface.

Under the hood, the forthcoming GLA will retain the same powertrains as the current model. The GLA is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine and a 1.3-litre petrol engine, both paired with automatic gearboxes. The former churns out 188 bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque, while the latter produces 161 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque.
