MG Gloster 7-Seater SUV Spied Testing Again in India

The upcoming seven-seater SUV spotted doing test runs; expected to get a cabin similar to Maxus D90.

MG Motor India debuted Gloster, a seven-seater SUV at Auto Expo 2020. The rebadged version of the China-Spec Maxus D90, the Gloster is all set to go on sale during this festive season. Competing against the likes of Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and Mahindra Alturas G4, it is expected to be priced around Rs 28 lakhs (Ex-Showroom). Ahead of its official launch, a new set of spy-pictures have emrged online of the production ready model.


Unlike the one showcased at Delhi Auto Expo 2020, the test mule spotted in these images indicate towards a different set of 6-spoke alloy wheels with black paint finish and quad exhaust tips. The SUV features wraparound headlamps, chrome treatment given to door handles and window line, a roof spoiler, and silver trim on the tailgate. There were also LED taillamps and a rear diffuser in gloss black finish, giving it a masculine look.


According to the spy shot, the upcoming seven-seater SUV is expected to get a cabin similar to Maxus D90. Highlighted features include an all-black cabin with silver accents along with a flat-bottom steering wheel. MG Gloster is also expected to offer a plethora of equipment on-board. These include a panoramic sunroof, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, cruise control, connected car technology, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, ventilated seats, six airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, and a rearview camera.


The MG Gloster will come powered by a  2.0 litre turbocharged diesel engine churning out 218 bhp power and 480 Nm torque mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. It will also be sold with a 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol unit producing 224 bhp of power output with 360 Nm of peak torque.
