This would be the automaker’s fourth product offering in the country after Hector, Hector Plus and the ZS EV. MG Gloster pre-bookings commenced last month for a token amount of Rs 1 Lakh. The expected price for the MG Gloster SUV would be in the bracket of Rs 30-40 Lakhs (ex-showroom). It would be competing against the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Mahindra Alturas G4 and Ford Endeavour in the domestic market. The premium SUV would be retailed in four variants: Super, Smart, Sharp and Savvy. The manufacturer is further giving the Indian buyers an option of two diesel engines. Smart is the entry-level variant while Savvy being the top-end trim of Gloster.
Dimensions wise, the Gloster measurement stands at 4,985mm in length, 1,926mm in width and 1867mm in height. This makes the MG Gloster bigger than its rivals. Talking about the design, the octagon signature grille and floating roof design stand out among others. The other striking highlights are LED headlamps, 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, LED fog lamps and dual barrel twin chrome exhausts.

The cabin boasts of features like LED reading lights, leather layered dashboard, 8-inch Multi-Information Display & 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The automaker's emphasis on the technological front in the SUV is evident with features like critical tyre pressure voice alert, wireless charging, anti-Theft immobilization and over-speed warning. It also boasts of a panoramic sunroof as standard.
The Gloster SUV’s Super and Smart variants will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine. The unit will deliver 161 bhp of power output and 375 Nm of peak torque. The Sharp and Savvy trims, on the other hand, will have a 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged diesel powertrain. The engine will belt out a maximum power output of 215 bhp and 480 Nm of peak torque. Both the diesel engines will be paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox with no option for manual unit. The Sharp and Savvy trims will come with a Four-wheel-drive (4WD) option.
