MG Motor India has unveiled the Gloster full-sized SUV in the country. MG Gloster bookings have started from today on the company's website as well as its 200+ dealerships at an amount of Rs 1 Lakh. It comes loaded with a myriad of first-in-segment features while powered by a BS6 compliant diesel engine. Being dubbed as India’s first Autonomous (Level 1) Premium SUV, MG Gloster is the British automaker's fourth product in the country after Hector, ZS EV and Hector Plus. The SUV will be launched in the first week of October 2020.
MG Gloster features include Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and Automatic Parking Assist (APA), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Blind Spot Detection (BSD). Moreover, it comes with an All Terrain System which comes handy during off-roading as it comes with a dedicated rear differential and BorgWarner transfer case, a state-of-the-art electronic shift-on-the-fly technology. The SUV gets seven driving modes: Snow, Mud, Sand, Eco, Sport, Normal and Rock. The company has equipped the Gloster with MG i-SMART technology which includes several industry-first features such as Critical Tyre Pressure Voice Alert, Shortpedia App, and Anti-Theft Immobilization via Smartphone.
Some of the other features include a segment-leading 12.3-inch HD touchscreen system, captain seats, 64 color ambient lighting and panoramic sunroof. One of the most notable inclusion in the Gloster is the 3D maps from MapMyIndia which includes COVID testing centre locations in maps apart from various alerts like potholes and speed alerts. MG has also offered Apple Watch Connectivity and Gaana app with voice control with the SUV as standard. Taking a leaf out of Kia's book, it has also installed a PM 2.5 air filter in the cabin. MG Gloster will be powered by the BS6 compliant 2.0L twin turbo diesel engine which will deliver a top power of 215bhp and peak torque of 480Nm, which makes it the most powerful vehicle in its segment. The SUV will feature an on-demand four-wheel drive (4x4) system as standard.
