MG Motor aims to install 1000 chargers in residential areas in 1000 days across the country

MG Motor launched its new venture ‘MG Charge’ in the country. This is the first-ever initiative by an OEM in India. In order to enable this initiative, the British automaker will collaborate with Electreefi (MG Developer Program & Grant 2.0 winner), Exicom, Echargebays, Resident Welfare Associations, and other new partners. This is a conscious move by MG in order to contribute towards helping reduce emissions and saving the environment. The aim is to strengthen the EV charging infrastructure in India.

Under this new venture, MG will be installing 1000 AC fast chargers at residential localities across India. The Smart chargers will be Type 2 chargers that will support Type 2 chargers. Besides this, the chargers will be sim-enabled and supported through a sharable Charger Management System. Talking about the connected AC charging stations, they will be operating 24*7 and cater to the residents and visitors of these societies for their EV charging needs. The aim is to make these societies future-ready, go green, and encourage the transition to electric vehicles.
