Hyundai will be launching a fleet of vehicles in India by the end of 2020. The fleet consists of nine cars of various body types and powertrain. There are micro SUV, electric vehicles, hatchbacks and sedans that will be launched. But the most important of all is the flagship of Hyundai, the Santa Fe which is also set to be launched in a completely new avatar.
On the exterior front, the Santa Fe will get drastic design change. The mesh grille will be of the same pattern seen on the Kona e-SUV but will be larger in size. The chrome slat just below the LED headlights along with LED DRLs on the front give the car a good appeal and LED tail light, a new tailgate, revised rear bumper with silver skid plate and twin chrome-tipped exhaust complete the rear of the SUV.
The interiors of the car will be very premium and there will be usage of soft-touch materials on the dashboard. The centre console will be housing a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The SUV gets a three-parts instrument cluster, multifunctional steering wheel and an 8.5-inch heads-up display (HUD). The car will be available in a seven-seat configuration.
The Santa Fe comes loaded with safety features like ABS, EBD, airbags, front anti-collision assist, blind-spot warning, lane-keep assist, driver attention warning, rear parking camera with guidelines and cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist.
The SUV is powered by a 2.2-litre CRDi turbocharged diesel unit that churns out 200 BHP. The powerplant is mated to an 8-speed automatic torque converter unit. The car is capable of off-road terrains and power from the engine is supplied to all four wheels and it comes with multiple driving modes. The car, when launched, will lock its horns with the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.
