New-Gen Skoda Octavia India Launch in June 2021

2021 Skoda Octavia is more spacious, safer, and more connected in comparison to its predecessor.

Skoda Auto is preparing to launch the new-gen Octavia in the Indian market next month. The Czech automaker’s brand director, Zac Hollis has made the announcement on Twitter today. Earlier, the launch was scheduled to take place sometime in May, but due to Covid’19 lockdown, it was put on hold. The upcoming sedan made its global debut a while ago.




The 2021 Skoda Octavia is built on the updated MQB platform. In comparison to its predecessor, it is larger in size. Design-wise, it features a new apron upfront. In addition, the new sedan gets full LED Matrix headlights and fog lights with LED sources. The rear end boasts of full LED tail lights with dynamic indicators and Skoda lettering. Other design bits include 19-inch alloy wheels. Electrically retractable tow bar, and best-in-segment boot capacity of 600L. 

Moving inside the cabin of the new Octavia, it features a redesigned dashboard. It further gets a large, free-standing, central display. Other feature includes a new two-spoke steering wheel, new LED ambient lighting, a 4.2-inch Multifunction Maxi DOT 16-color display, electric side windows, and an electromechanical parking brake among others. 




Performance-wise, the new Octavia will be powered by a 2.0-litre TSI, turbo-petrol engine that is capable of generating maximum power of 187 bhp and a peak torque of 320 Nm. The transmission option will include a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
