The new-gen Triumph Tiger 1200 is expected to launch in the Indian market sometime next year

Triumph Motorcycle unveiled its new-generation Tiger 1200 globally. The latest-generation of the ADV is offered in a total of two model ranges namely GT and Rally. The road-biased GT is available in three variants namely GT, GT Pro, and GT Explorer. While the off-road focused Rally comes in two variants namely the Rally Pro and Rally Explorer.

The design of the new-gen Tiger 1200 resembles that of Tiger 900s. The new windscreen has been designed in such a way that it can easily be adjusted by one hand. In terms of features, the new Triumph Tiger 1200 gets an all-new 7-inch TFT instrument with integrated My Triumph Connectivity System, multiple riding modes, optimized cornering traction control with IMU, cornering ABS, a keyless start system, and all-new LED lighting with DRL. The GT Explorer and Rally Explorer comes with features like all-new Triumph Blind Spot Radar System (developed in partnership with Continental), heated grips and seats, and tyre pressure monitoring system, in addition to the other features. However, the GT misses out on Triumph shift assist and hill hold.

Talking about the accessories, the new bike gets over 50 options, with the luggage options designed in conjunction with Givi. The bike further comes with a 3-year, unlimited mileage warranty and a 16,000km service interval.

Performance-wise, the new-gen Tiger 1200 is powered by a 1160cc, inline three-cylinder engine that churns out a top power of 148 bhp at 9000rpm and a peak torque of 130 Nm at 7000rpm. Triumph is offering an all-new Showa semi-active suspension set-up as standard across all variants. This system further allows nine levels of damping adjustment between Comfort and Sport. It also allows the rider to electronically set the spring preload. The braking duties are taken care of by twin 320 mm rotors upfront accompanied by Brembo Stylema calipers. Furthermore, the bike comes with a new ‘tri-link’ swingarm and shaft drive setup. It is also 5.5 kg less in weight than the previous Triumph Tiger 1200
