The car will be released in India in the coming months and could be introduced before the new Swift.

For all those waiting to see what Maruti has in store for us with its latest Swift Dzire, we have news. The car is meant to be released in the Indian markets soon, probably in the next few months. In an attempt to balance out sales of both the Maruti Dzire and new Swift, the compact sedan derivative will be launched much before the new Swift hatchback. Here are the five main things that auto buffs need to know about the car before it hits the local market, courtesy a few leaked images that give us a better idea about the look and the insides of the Dzire.

It shares design cues with the all-new Swift
Though the upcoming Swift will only be released in 2018, you can catch a few glimpses of it in the latest Dzire. Both cars share many design aspects, including the way the bonnet, front fenders and headlamps have been styled. The broader front grille makes for an impressive front, though the rear will sport an edgier look as compared to the new Swift. The overall look has been carefully slimmed down to look smarter and sleeker.

Expected to get an upmarket cabin
Now here, there are definitely lots of subtle cues from the new Swift. Features such as the dashboard and seats have been tweaked to look more regal, with the addition of the brand new centre air-con vents and instrument cluster. Though the final product undergo more changes, expect faux wood inserts running throughout the cabin space and steering wheel.

Will come with a host of accessories
The car will come with equipment such as new multi-spoke alloy wheels, the popular SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system, auto climate control and projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights and new electrically operable outside rear-view mirrors with integrated turn signal lights.

The new model will share engine power with its predecessor
According to the leaked images, the new Maruti is expected to come equipped with the same 1.2-litre K-series petrol motor and 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine, both paired to a five-speed manual gearbox. Though engine power remains unaltered, automatic variants may be available.

New Dzire Tour
As for the current model of Maruti Dzire, it will be transformed into a taxi-friendly Dzire tour. It is expected to be sold as a diesel and, for the first time, in petrol and CNG as well.
