The car is based on the new Swift and will be showcased at the 2017 Frankfurt motor show in September. This lightweight hot hatch is powered by a 140hp, 1.4-litre turbo-petrol Boosterjet engine. The company claims that the car has “undergone a complete redesign and delivers an all new level of excitement for sport-minded drivers across the world.”
Like its predecessor, this car promises to offer engaging handling, impressive body control, a slick manual gearbox, subtle body kit and a low kerb weight. This is the first time a turbocharged petrol engine will be offered instead of the naturally aspirated version in the previous car.
The company will debut the new Swift in India at the 2018 Auto Expo in January, but there’s no word yet on whether the hot hatch version will make its way here.
