Nissan India has started the production of the Kicks compact SUV. The Kicks will be launched in January 2019.

Nissan has started the production of the Kicks compact SUV at their plant in Chennai. The vehicle will be launched in the Indian market in January 2019 and it will compete with the Renault Captur, Ford EcoSport and Maruti S-Cross.

The Nissan Kicks has a funky design and it is slightly bigger than the global model that is sold in overseas markets. It will also be offered with dual tone exterior colour themes and the styling is likely to be appreciated by youngsters. The interiors have a premium appeal, with the leather panels on the dashboard and the long list of features.

The Nissan Kicks comes with features like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, voice commands, auto LED headlamps, rain sensing wipers, auto AC, airbags, ABS with EBD, cruise control, Hill Start Assist, Eco mode, cornering fog lamps, roof rails and a lot more.

The compact will be offered with 2 engines - 1.5-litre petrol with a 5-speed MT and a 1.5-litre diesel with a 6-speed MT. Nissan won't be offering an automatic gearbox initially but there is a possibility that they might launch it later.
