The Renault’s MPV has failed to score even a single star in the recent GNCAP test.

The Renault Lodgy has scored 0-star rating in the Global NCAP test. The Lodgy was given a zero star for adult occupant protection. The lack of airbags on the base variant, unstable structure and deformations in multiple areas during the impact resulted in the miserable performance of the Renault Lodgy.

The lack of airbags resulted in the impact of head and chest to the steering wheel. The impact resulted in the deformation of the rear door and a rupture in the footwell area. However, the Lodgy scored 2-stars for child occupant protection. The lack of ISOFIX child seat anchorages proved to be dangerous. The child seats were installed with adult seatbelts but it failed to keep the three-year-old dummy in its place.

Presently, only the range topping Lodgy comes with dual front airbags. With mandatory fitment of ABS and airbags from 2019, the manufacturer will have to upgrade its entire range in order to sell their product in the market.
