Skoda Auto has finally unveiled the much-anticipated Slavia in the country. The premium mid-size sedan will be replacing the decade-old Skoda Rapid sedan. It is expected to be launched next year in February/March. As for the price, we can expect the vehicle to fall in the range of Rs 10 lakhs - Rs 16 lakhs (ex-showroom). Skoda Slavia is offered in a total of three trims namely Active, Ambition, and Style. Bookings for the same have commenced from today onwards. While the deliveries of the vehicle will begin in the first quarter of 2022.
Skoda Slavia: Design, Dimensions, & Color Options
In terms of dimensions, the new Slavia stands at 4541mm in length, 1752mm in width, and 1487mm in height. The vehicle comes with 2651mm of wheelbase. In comparison to the outgoing Rapid, the new mid-size sedan is 128mm longer, 53mm wider, and 20mm taller. Design-wise, the sedan features Skoda’s signature butterfly grille and sleek headlights with L-shaped DRL strips. In addition, the vehicle gets a sporty-looking bumper along with inverted L-shaped motif for the fog lamp housing. The rear end of the new Slavia boasts of C-shaped LED tail lamps that are further divided into two parts and extend into the boot. One can find Skoda lettering on the boot lid. While the bumper features a full-width chrome strip. Talking about the color options, the new Slavia is offered in Crystal Blue, Reflex Silver, Tornado Red, Carbon Steel, and Candy White.

The cabin design of the Skoda Slavia resembles the Octavia sedan. However, several trims and switchgear like the two-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls & knurled buttons are shared with Kushaq. The cabin further boasts of a dual-tone interior. The feature highlights include a 10.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, sleek AC vents, a wireless charging pad, a gear lever, an 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats, an electric sunroof, and ‘Skoda’ embossed on the instrument binnacle. Furthermore, the Slavia features round-shaped AC vents instead of hexagonal AC vents as present in the Kushaq. Since the Slavia is larger in size than the outgoing Rapid. Hence the cabin is pretty spacious thereby offering amazing legroom space for the passengers.
Skoda Slavia: Safety Features
The safety kit of the Slavia comprises six airbags, a tyre pressure monitor, multi-collision brake, an electronic differential system (EDS), ESC, ISOFIX child seat mounts, a rear parking camera, and hill-hold control.

Skoda Slavia: Engine Specifications
Performance-wise, the Skoda Slavia comes with a choice of two TSI turbo-petrol engines. The 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder TSI motor churns out a top power of 114 bhp. The unit is further linked to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The 1.5-litre, four-cylinder TSI unit, on the other hand, generates 149 bhp power. Transmission duty in this case is handled by a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG gearbox. Besides this, the more powerful 1.5-litre TSI engine comes equipped with fuel saving cylinder deactivation technology.
