Skoda Kushaq Explorer Unveiled in India

Skoda India has introduced the Kushaq Explorer as a sportier variant of the SUV in the Indian market. In terms of style, the new model is based on the iconic Kushaq. The new car will come with a range of cosmetic features and an ‘off-road-ready’ look. This model is also available in a matte shade option. The auto giant is planning to unveil the Kushaq Explorer on the market in the coming days.

The Explorer is likely to be priced between 80,000 and 1 lakh, which is more than the Kushaq Style version. The new Kushaq Explorer prototype features matte green paint, an LED light bar on the roof, two hooks at the front and rear, roof rails, blacked-out alloy wheels that are wrapped in off-road tyres, and blacked-out badging. The bumpers, side cladding, grille, and front skid plate are colored with orange accents. The upcoming model will come with extra accessories such as auxiliary lighting, off-road tyres, a roof rack, and a tow hook.

Aside from this, the Kushaq Explorer will receive more features in comparison to the standard Style version. The new model will get 360-degree cameras, a head-up display, and a revamped reverse camera with guidelines. The interior of the new Sportier variant retains the same layout as the standard model. However, it gets body-colored dash inserts that give this car a new look.

The SUV will be powered by both the 1.5 litre TSI petrol and the 1.0 litre TSI engines. The 1.0-litre petrol engine churns out a peak power output of 114 bhp and peak torque of 178 Nm, whereas the 1.5-litre engine produces power of 148 bhp and peak torque of 250 Nm. The units will get a six-speed manual and a seven-speed DSG AT transmission.

In the Indian market, the base variant of the Skoda Kushaq is available at a price of INR 11.89 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top-spec trim is priced at INR 20.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The Kushaq is already exported in Monte Carlo, Onyx, Elegance, Matte, and Lava Blue Editions.
