Tata Altroz range is all set for an expansion soon with the introduction of a turbo petrol variant in the Indian market. As per sources, Tata Altroz turbo petrol will be launched during the festive season in November. Though, it has been spotted multiple times without any camouflage as test mule and the spy-shots have stated that the new variants of the hatch will debut an all-new Blue paint scheme which wasn't available till now with the Altroz range. The Altroz turbo petrol will directly rival high-performance variants of Hyundai i20 and Volkswagen Polo in India.
Recently, our friends at Team-BHP were able to get their hands on the engine specifications of the upcoming 2020 Tata Altroz turbo petrol. The leaked document revealed that the 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine would belt out a top power of 108bhp at 5500rpm and peak torque of 140Nm between 1500-5500rpm. The engine will come paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard while a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox could also be offered as optional. The 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine will continue to power the standard variants of the Altroz hatchback. The BS6 compliant 1199cc 3-cylinder develops maximum power output of 85bhp at 6000rpm and highest torque performance of 113Nm at 3300rpm.
There will be no cosmetic changes with the turbo petrol version as it would boast of an identical smoked tail-lamp cluster. The rear end will also flaunt 'Altroz' lettering in black color. Tata Altroz petrol price starts at Rs 5.44 Lakhs and goes as high as Rs 7.89 Lakhs while Tata Altroz diesel prices are in a range of Rs 6.99-9.09 Lakhs (All the aforementioned prices are Ex. Showroom, Delhi). Tata Altroz turbo petrol price is expected to start at Rs 7.99 Lakhs and go as high as 8.75 Lakhs, as per reports. Meanwhile, in other news, Tata Motors is also working on an all-electric version of Altroz which is expected to launch by the mid of 2021. The company already retails a couple of all-electric cars in the form of Tigor and Nexon in the Indian market with a considerably decent driving range.
