The third-gen Continental GT coupé will be launched in India on March 24, 2018. The car’s design is inspired by the stylish Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6 concept car displayed at the 2015 Geneva motor show. The new Continental GT is longer than the outgoing model – the wheelbase has increased by 110mm to 2,856mm. The model is also 25mm wider – it’s 1,954mm wide, 1,392mm tall and 4,805mm long.
The car is built on Porsche’s developed MSB (Modular Standard Drivetrain) platform, which the latest Panamera. The engine is a modified version of Bentley’s 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged W12 petrol engine, which the company calls its “most advanced 12-cylinder engine in the world”. This also the first time the car will be fitted with a dual-clutch, eight-speed transmission. The engine makes 635hp, it makes 43hp more than the outgoing unit, and 900Nm.
The interior features high-quality leather and veneers and hand-finished chrome details. It also has a 12.3-inch display which is “akin to a modern mobile phone”. The car will most probably be more expensive than the current model.
The entry-level Sigma variant of the Grand Vitara has become expensive by INR 19,000.
