It is estimated to be priced around ₹15 lakh.

Plans to bring the Toyota C-HR, a radically designed SUV, to India are being finalised at Toyota. Upon launch in mid-2018, the Toyota C-HR will take on the Hyundai Creta and the Tucson. The SUV is visually attractive, thanks to its bulging wheel arches, angular lights, and a sporty coupe-like roofline. Its construction is based on Toyota’s New Global Architecture which is the same as the new Prius. The C-HR may be the first to be made in India on this new platform.

Its interiors are a marked improvement over what Toyota has offered in a long time. The dashboard design is futuristic and the central console has certain elements in an unconventional layout. The sleek design and sloping roof have not really compromised on rear space, thanks to an intelligent design that ensures enough headroom. There’s also enough legroom but as compared to competition, it may be less.

Toyota assures that the C-HR will be as exciting to drive as it is to look at. The handling is tuned to be sporty and an interesting set of engines will arrive in India with it. An exciting proposition is the likelihood of a turbocharged petrol engine. All indications are that the Toyota C-HR will be a fresh, fun offering from the Japanese auto giant.
