Toyota Kirloskar Motors has not given any updates to its top-selling MPV, Innova Crysta for the last four years. With an aim to extend the existing generation’s lifespan, the company is all set to give the MPV a mid-life refresh. The Japanese automaker unveiled the Innova Crysta Facelift in the Indonesian market last month. Now the brand is all set to launch the MPV on November 20, 2020, in the domestic market. As per sources, the dealers have already started accepting bookings for the MPV. Deliveries are also slated to begin from this month onwards.
Cosmetically, the Innova Crysta Facelift features a larger front grille with thick chrome outlines and five horizontal slats. It is accompanied by sleek headlamps along with LED DRLs. The front fascia of the MPV gets an aggressive and a bold look. The front bumper for that matter offers a blacked-out chin section with a faux silver skid plate. Furthermore, the MPV gets restyled halogen fog lamps that have been vertically housed in a black triangular surround. Thus giving a sportier look to the MPV. The rear end gets subtle changes in the form of a thick black center section and tail lamp surrounds. The upcoming MPV will ride on 16-inch alloy wheels finished in silver.
Talking about the interior design of the Innova Crysta Facelift, it will more or less remain identical to its predecessor. The MPV will boast of an all-black theme. In terms of feature additions, the four-wheeler gets a new 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an in-built air purifier, and a new instrument cluster. Its safety net will consists of seven airbags, speed-sensing door locks, cruise control, vehicle stability control, hill-start assist, reversing camera among many others.
Performance-wise, the upcoming 2020 Innova Crysta Facelift will get a 2.4-litre four-cylinder, diesel engine that will generate a maximum power output of 148 bhp. There will also be a 2.7-litre petrol engine that will churn out 164 bhp of power. Both the engines will get a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard along with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission as an option.
