Toyota’s Concept-i Uses AI Tech and is Due in 2020

The autonomous Concept-i EV will showcase what AI systems are capable of before they hit production.

The company has announced that it will begin integrating artificial intelligence into its production Cars from 2020. The company’s autonomous tech will be shown on its Concept-i model at the 2017 Tokyo motor show.

The four-seat concept can assess the passenger’s wellbeing, mood and personal preferences, and will adjust the way it performs to suit the occupant.

The Car can control the AC unit to suit passenger preferences, and will adjust its behavior to reduce fatigue and improve overall well-being. The AI system will hit road-going models by the start of 2020, and will trickle down to most cars in the range.

At the Tokyo motor show, the company will show a two-seat Concept-i Ride, which is 2500mm long and 1300mm wide and the three-wheeled Concept-i Walk model, which can be used on pavements, alongside the AI autonomous Concept-i.
