Toyota’s Yaris details leaked ahead of its launch

There will be four variants on offer with seven airbags as part of standard kit.

The car will be launched on May 8 and it will compete with cars like the Honda City and the Hyundai Verna. Dealers are currently accepting bookings for an amount of Rs 50,000. The car will be sold only with a 1.5-litre petrol engine with either a six-speed manual or a seven-step CVT automatic gearbox.

The Yaris will be sold in three variants for the manual car and four variants, including a top-spec VX, for the automatic car. There will seven airbags that are standard across the range.

The car will be manufactured at Toyota’s plant in Karnataka and is heavily localised, so you can expect a competitive price-tag of between Rs 8.4-13.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
