Bookings will officially start on April 22.

The company has confirmed that it will launch the car on May 18, 2018. Bookings will officially commence on April 22. There are a few dealers in Delhi who have already begun taking bookings for Rs 50,000.

You get the car with a single petrol motor - a 108hp, four-cylinder naturally aspirated unit. There won’t be a diesel version but a hybrid could join soon. You can either get a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-step CVT automatic gearbox.

There are lots of segment-first features on the top-spec trim. You get a powered driver’s seat, front parking sensors, a gesture control for the touchscreen infotainment system, a tyre pressure-monitoring system, 60:40 split rear seats with adjustable three-neck restraints, a  and roof-mounted rear air-con with ambient lighting. The top variant gets all-wheel disc brakes, seven airbags (including a driver's knee airbag), Hill-Start Assist, ABS, EBD and ESP.

The company will produce the car in Karnataka and thanks to heavy localisation of parts, the Yaris is expected to be priced between Rs 8.4-13.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
