Ola Chairman and Group CEO Bhavish Aggarwal took the scooter out for a spin in Bangalore

Ola is all set to launch its all-electric scooter in the Indian market. Recently, Ola Chairman and Group CEO Bhavish Aggarwal took the scooter out for a spin and rode by some of the most iconic spots in Bangalore. It is learnt that the all-electric Ola scooter will go on sale this month itself in the country. It will be made in India for the world at the Ola Futurefactory which is coming up at record pace in Tamil Nadu India on a 500 acres site. Its first phase is nearing completion and when fully built next year, at 10 million a year capacity, it will be the world’s largest two-wheeler factory.

“It was such a pleasure taking the Ola Scooter out for a spin and putting it through its paces. Its speed, range, maneuverability, ride & handling, and of course it's design, and the incredible technology we’ve packed into this - all make it a game changing vehicle and a beauty to drive. I look forward to bringing this to our customers soon! ” said Bhavish Aggarwal, Chairman and Group CEO, Ola. The Ola vehicle engineering team has been testing the Ola Scooter extensively for the last few months, where the Scooter has returned best-in-class range, speed and performance. The scooter's motor, battery, vehicle computer and several other advanced features have been designed and developed in-house by Ola.

Ola has already made it official that it would set up the world's largest charging network in India. Being named as Ola Hypercharger Network, it will cover 400 cities with over 1 Lakh charging points. Ola will deploy 5000 charging points in 100 cities in the first year. All the Ola customers will be offered a set of charging options for their electric vehicle which include the high-speed Ola Hyperchargers and the home-charger that will come bundled with the scooter. The home charger will require no installation and will provide Ola customers the convenience of charging at home by simply plugging into a regular wall socket for overnight charging. The Ola electric scooter will be charged to 50 percent from zero in merely 18 minutes for a range of 75 kilometers.
